Reason why BLACKPINK doesn't have its leader
Most of k-pop idol groups have their leaders. And the leaders play very important roles in their team. They lead the other members, motivate them, and tighten discipline among them. You know, great leader makes great team. G-Dragon of BIGBANG is a good example.
However, there is a girl group who doesn't have its leader. Yeah, it's BLACKPINK. It is a very rare case, but Yang Hyun Suk decided not to select a leader of BLACKPINK because he thought the four girls, who have been together for a long time and are very close to each other can generate better results without a leader.
And actually, it seems like the four girls are doing great without a leader. Here's a statement from Lisa, one of the youngest members of the team.
Even though we don't have an official leader, two unnies, Jisoo and Jennie lead us. Jisoo always supports us, and I think she is a great spiritual leader. I sometimes feel like she's our manager because she knows all the schedules. And Jennie takes good care of us too. She cares about our costumes, and she motivates us when we practice our choreography.
