On June 8, BIGBANG's G-Dragon released his new solo album "Kwon Jiyong", while it's notable that the album was released as an USB, not as a CD. By the way, the Korea Music Content Industry Association, which is currently running Gaon Chart said it's hard to admit GD's USB album as a music album, stating "It's just a tool to download music". If GD's USB album is not admitted as a music album, the album will be excluded from Gaon's album sales chart, and of course, it will affect rankings of music chart shows such as "Inkigayo" and "Show! Music Core".
About this, GD posted a long piece of writing on his SNS on June 15. He said "What's the problem? You can just judge whether an artist's work is an album or not by the decision made by someone we never know? From tape to CD, and from CD to download file. The appearance of music album has been changing again and again. What's important are melodies and lyrics which console many people and are remembered by many people for a long time".
Well, it's very unusual for the idol star to reveal his thoughts on a sensitive issue, which means he's really mad now.
Why do you think GD is so mad now? Because his album will be excluded from Gaon's album sales chart and it will have a bad effect on his rankings of music chart shows? No, he never cares about it. He's a little bit shy in front of strangers, but he's the one who is full of confidence about his music. And he has put a lot of efforts into his new solo album. Yeah, he cannot tolerate the Korea Music Content Industry Association ignores his album just because it was released as an USB.
Actually, what the Korea Music Content Industry Association was the stupidest idea. Just like GD said, the world we are living in is changing very rapidly. They just can't keep up with the trend. One reason why GD released his new album as an USB is that an USB has larger storage capacity than a CD. GD's USB album can hold 4 GB, while CD albums can usually hold only 700 MB. YG's planning to upload a variety of digital contents including GD's music video and songs which can be downloaded to his USB album.
The funny thing is the Korea Music Content Industry Association changed its position after GD, who is acknowledged to be a no.1 k-pop star posted a long piece of writing on his SNS. The association announced that nothing is confirmed and it will just abide by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's decision.

"Do k-pop idols really sing live? It's not an easy question to answer because the answer to the question could be both yes and no. Well, I want to talk about details about k-pop idols' live performance on the stage. Have you heard about MR, AR, LMR, and LAR? If you get to know about these terms, you will be able to have a good understanding of k-pop idols' live performance." MR(Music Recorded) Basically, MR means instrumental accompaniment. Have you been to karaoke? MR is like karaoke music which doesn’t contain the sound of singer’s voice. However, there is no k-pop idol who uses such a clear MR, while all the k-pop idols’ MR contains sounds of their voices. Before performing their songs on k-pop chart shows, k-pop idols should make their MR, and the way how they make MR is to decrease the sound volume of their voices in original music, while keeping the sound volume of instrumental accompaniment as it is. So, to k-pop idols, singing to MR doesn’t j...
Have you ever been curious about k-pop idols' microphones? Unless you are a professional, it’s difficult to know the details about the microphones. However, there’s a very simple way to make a guess at what kind of microphone your favorite idol star uses. Well, the way is to classify the microphones by their colors. Colors of microphones do not always mean everything, but like I said, you can at least make a guess at what kind of microphones those are. Flesh-Colored Microphone You might see the flesh-colored microphones frequently in various k-pop chart shows. Those are the basic microphones offered by the broadcasting company. People in the k-pop world usually call it "Band-Aid." The microphone is cheap, and it doesn't perform well. However, it doesn't matter because not a few incompetent idols depend on their AR and just pretend to sing live. Black Microphone The black microphone is not offered by the broadcasting company. If an idol group's...

Q. You released your 6th mini album "Blueming" after a 7-month hiatus. How do you feel? Yonghwa: Even though the album is just released, it feels like it has been a long time since we released the album. I think it's because we've been planning for the album for a long time. Jungshin: After releasing "Cinderella" last year, we've been busy with our concert tour. As our Asia tour recently finished, it feels like we made a comeback without a break. Q. The album contains a total of 5 songs, while all the songs are written by you guys. Didn't you feel burdened about releasing an album filled with your own songs? Yonghwa: Frankly speaking, yeah, it's burdensome. However, we are doubly happy when we achieve a success with our own songs. And we know about ourselves more than anyone. That's why we released an album filled with our own songs. Q. What is the hardest part about writing songs? Yonghwa: I sometimes suffer from an obsession ...

So, here’s an interview with a former k-pop trainee. She was trained by one of the most famous k-pop agencies for years, but she decided to quit for various reasons. Q. How long were you trained? And what made you decide to quit your life as a k-pop trainee? A. I was trained for about 6 years. I really want to become a singer when I was young. However, I later found out that I should do lots of things other than singing and dancing to become a singer. I couldn’t allow myself in such a course of life. Q.
