Testimonies about SHINee Jonghyun's real personality

It was shocking and sad news. SHINee's Jonghyun died on December 18, 2017. He has suffered from severe depression, and before committing suicide, he sent his sister a text message that read "It has been hard. Please let me go. This is my last goodbye".

Countless people are expressing their sorrow at the idol star's death, and many celebrities including Girls' Generation, Super Junior, EXO, Red Velvet, BTS, IU and ZICO have visited his mortuary to express their condolences. 4 SHINee members, Onew, Minho, Key and Taemin played the role of chief mourner.

Some of you might wonder why such a famous star committed suicide, but it's true that some Korean stars are suffering from severe depression. They're always controlled by their agencies, and they feel rushed due to anxiety of the future. In the Korean entertainment industry, they fiercely compete to survive, and it's never easy to overcome the severe mental pressure. That's why some celebrities take drugs to escape from reality.

What I remember most about Jonghyun are his passion for music and clever talk. He was an artist who really loved music and always tried hard to make high quality music. He had his own musical characteristic, and his high quality songs were definitely different from those of the other k-pop singers, especially idols. And of course, he was one of the best vocalists in the k-pop world.

When SHINee was interviewed, Jonghyun was the one who livened up the mood with witty remarks. Even though he was not the leader of the team, the good speaker led the other members when they were interviewed.

So, here are k-pop industry workers' testimonies about Jonghyun's real personality. He was not only a great artist but also a nice person. Rest in peace, Jonghyun.

He was always in agony because he always tried hard to find the way to make better music. Even though he has achieved huge success and was loved by so many global fans, he always tried hard to find the best way to express his thoughts and feelings through music.

He made a ceaseless effort to overcome his limitations as an idol. He was always bright-eyed when we talked about music. His passion and expectations about music was on another level. He had an obsession about details because he was an energetic artist who always tried to make better music.

He was a stubborn artist. No one could break his obstinacy. He was an artist with his own beliefs, and he made a music album that had a clear message.

When I met him for the first time, I thought he was cold-hearted because of his appearance. But I was wrong. He was a good listener, and he tried to empathize with others.

Since Jonghyun grew up without his father and he was the second eldest of 5 SHINee members, he tried to act like a father in his team. He had a strong sense of responsibility, and I think that's why he couldn't pour out all his troubles to the other members.
