Q. Looking back on 2017, how do you feel?
Seohyun: I had a lot of worries and anxieties, but I think it was a very productive year. The year could be the turning point in my life.
Q. Many people were very surprised when you announced that you decided to leave SM Entertainment.
Seohyun: SM Entertainment is like a home to me, and I have my family there. That's why so many emotions crossed my mind when I decided to leave there. As the youngest member of our team, I received much love. But you know, I'm not a teenage girl any more. I agonized about my future, and I decided to make a fresh start because I wanted to take responsibility for myself.
Q. What did Lee Soo Man tell you after you left SM Entertainment?
Seohyun: I've lately dined with him, and he gave me a message of support. He said I've been doing great job and he thanked me. Actually, I'm so thankful to him. I was an ordinary girl, but thanks to him, I could become a member of Girls' Generation and have a good influence on many people. I'll never forget what he has done for me.
Q. Before leaving SM Entertainment, what did you talk to the other Girls' Generation members?
Seohyun: We talk to each other very often. And we talk about each other's dream too. We've been together for a long time, and we know every member has her own life style. That's why we can respect and understand each other, and we promised to support each other now and for ever.
Q. Will you reunite some day?
Seohyun: Of course. Before making the final decision, we already talked about it. We'll always be together. Of course, there are only 5 members left in SM Entertainment, but we're still Girls' Generation. Even though I can't represent SM Entertainment because I don't belong there any more, I'm sure SM Entertainment thinks the same way.
Q. So, do you have a specific plan for your reunion?
Seohyun: I can't tell you all the details because not all of us belong to SM Entertainment now. But, I'll be able to tell you all the details later, and one thing that's certain is that Girls' Generation will be forever.
Q. Don't you feel pressure about making a fresh start?
Seohyun: I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I've learned a lot since I entered SM Entertainment years ago, and I don't regret my decision. I'm designing my future these days.
Q. What's your biggest concern these days?
Seohyun: I'm agonizing about my future. I made a fresh start to look for answers to the future, but I think it will take some time. You know, there is no perfect answer to life.
