The reason why some kpop agencies blame CJ E&M for making a contract with Wanna One's Kim Jaehwan


On August 8, CJ E&M announced that is made a contract with Wanna One's Kim Jaehwan. The rookie singer was the only Wanna One member who didn't belong to any k-pop agencies, but he finally found his home. CJ E&M said "We've offered all the trainees who appeared in "Produce 101 Season 2" practicing rooms and vehicles, and we could build a trust with Kim Jaehwan at the time". Kim Jaehwan will be active as a singer of CJ E&M after finishing his activities as a member of Wanna One.

By the way, some of k-pop agencies are now blaming CJ E&M for making a contract with Kim Jaehwan. Do you know why?


As I said, Kim Jaehwan was the only Wanna One member who didn't belong to any k-pop agencies, and after he was chosen as a member of the sensational boy group, a lot of k-pop agencies tried to contact him to make a contract with him. They really wanted to sign with him because, you know, he became so popular by appearing in "Produce 101 Season 2" and becoming a member of Wanna One. However, the agencies couldn't contact him because he has no manager and he has been busy preparing for Wanna One's debut.

In this situation, yeah, CJ E&M signed with him. You know, CJ E&M is a large company which has not only a management agency but also various broadcasting companies including Mnet. So, some k-pop agencies which wanted to make a contract with Kim Jaehwan are blaming CJ E&M because they couldn't even have a chance to persuade the young promising singer. They think it's the high-handedness of a large company.


Well, however, it can't be said CJ E&M did wrong because, you know, there are no fixed rules about how k-pop trainees choose their agencies. And frankly speaking, it was a great choice for Kim Jaehwan to sign with CJ E&M because the company is big and influential. In addition, MMO Entertainment, home to Wanna One's Kang Daniel and Yoon Jisung is a affiliated company of CJ E&M Music, which means Kim Jaehwan will be able to do various collaborative works with the two Wanna One members even after finishing his activities as a member of Wanna One. They will be able to create a great synergy.

Anyway, I wish good luck with Kim Jaehwan's future.
