Yoona's Solo Debut and SM's Ambition


Big news, huh? Girls' Generation's Yoona is going to release her first ever solo song. According to SM Entertainment, the song 'Deoksugung Stonewall Walkway' will be released on March 11, while 10cm will be featured in the song. I think many of you may be surprised at the news, but SM and Yoona have been preparing a long time for it.

As you may know, SM launched its new music platform "Station" this year and has been releasing new songs every week. And SM is really putting efforts into the project. What do you think SM wants to achieve through the project? Well, SM artists have been showing off their dominant power on the album sales market, but, relatively, their songs are not that popular on online charts. So, SM decided to launch "Station" and release songs every week to dominate online music market.

You need to take note of the fact that SM has been collaborating with other labels' artists such as Yoon Mirae, Eric Nam and 10cm through "Station" project. And with them, SM has been producing very special outcomes. By doing this, SM can distinguish itself on online music charts. Yoona's solo debut can be understood in the same context. Dynamic Duo released its new album. The Korean hip hop duo that consists of Choiza and Gaeko is regarded as the representative hip hop artist in Korea, while the two met in the 6th grade of elementary school and have a long standing history of being friends. Choiza and Gaeko started to work together through an underground hip hop scene named CB Mass and then came to establish Dynamic Duo in 2003.
