Q. Tell me about your new album 'A+'. Hyuna: I took part in every track of the album. "Sexy" is my concept for the album, but I hope people will recognize all my sweat and effort. I will show you all about the album through my performance on stage. I want to hear people say that only Hyuna can show such a gorgeous performance. I titled the album "A+" because I wanted to be praised by the public.
Q. Is there a difference between the title track 'Because I'm the best' and your former hit songs such as 'RED' and 'Crazy'? Hyuna: 'RED' and 'Crazy' are the songs which are full of sounds. However, 'Because I'm the best' has some spaces and I have to fill it with my voice. So, it requires more concentration to perform 'Because I'm the best'. I hope many females who live their lives to the full will sympathize with the song.
Q. You are considered as one of the sexiest kpop singers. What do you think of it?
Hyuna: Actually, I don't like fancy things and I'm a regular stay-at-home. I just try to be absorbed in the song when I perform on stage. I think it's a kind of role-playing. When I was preparing for the stage performance of 'Because I'm the best', I wanted to express things about a hotshot.
Q. You've been sticking to your sexy concept since you debuted. Don't you have any plan to show a new style of performance?
Hyuna: I've been sticking with one thing. That's the way I am. I don't think I'm cuter than other cute idols such as Apink and GFriend. I sometimes dance to their music, but pure and cute concept don't match with me.
Q. When do you feel you're the best?
Hyuna: When I perform on the stage. I make myself up all pretty before appearing on stage because I should look pretty there.
Q. People say your album trailer is too raunchy. What do you think of it? Hyuna: I wanted to show my healthy and sexy image. Some say it's decadent, but I didn't intend for it. As you know, I have only 3 to 4 minutes on stage to perform my song. I should show my energy within the time allowed.
Q. How did you keep your body in shape? Hyuna: When I filmed music video of 'Because I'm the best', I tried to gain weight because I wanted show powerful dance performance. However, on the screen, I didn't look so pretty and I started a diet. I went to the gym every day despite my hectic schedule. I combined aerobic exercise and work with weights, and I lost 3 kg in the last one and a half months. Actually, I love eating and I put on weight easily. I think it's common courtesy for me to stay slim because I'm an entertainer.
Q. How do you spend your time? Hyuna: I don't like to drink because my face turns red as a beet when I drink alcohol. I like to play badminton and watch movie at home.
Q. Aren't you interested in a love affair? Hyuna: I focus on one thing only. When I work on my album, I do not meet people except for my manager and composers. Believe it or not, I'm not able to date somebody now. I don't have a certain ideal type. I want to be loved by someone who is like-minded with me because I'm a woman too.
Q. You are a former member of Wonder Girls and the girl group recently made a comeback. How do you feel? Hyuna: When I watched Wonder Girls' music video, it was so touching and I called Yeeun. I've waited expectantly for Wonder Girls' comeback too.
Stage Name: G-Dragon (GD) Real Name: Kwon Ji Yong Position: Leader, Main Rapper, Producer, Lyricist Birthdate: August 18, 1988 Birthplace: Seoul, South Korea Height: 177cm Weight: 58kg Blood Type: A Religion: Christian Languages: Korean, Japanese, English Hobbies: Collecting limited editions, writing lyrics School: Majored in Postmodern Music at KyungHee University Q. What is GD’s role in BIGBANG? As the main producer of BIGBANG, G-Dragon took part in writing most of BIGBANG’s songs. He doesn’t do all the things alone, though. When he writes songs, he hears a variety of opinions from BIGBANG members, and he shares his idea with Teddy, a famous music producer of YG Entertainment to make better music. But you can say G-Dragon plays the largest role in writing BIGBANG’s songs because he usually creates main melodies of the songs. And he plays a huge role in BIGBANG’s concerts too. He is such an experienced performer so that he knows well about all the things regar...
In 2014, EXO's Chinese member Kris filed a lawsuit against SM entertainment, insisting that his exclusive contract with the agency should be nullified. And he finally left the agency, while another Chinese EXO member Luhan also filed a lawsuit against SM in the year. And in 2015, Tao decided to leave the agency too. After filing lawsuits, they said “SM didn't respect us at all. SM has treated us like subjects of control and determined our schedules unilaterally. And we had economic difficulties despite much work.” Well, I think many of k-pop fans may consider unfair contract between SM and the Chinese members as the main reason why the idol singers filed lawsuits. You know, it was not the first time that SM’s idol singer filed a lawsuit against the agency. The former TVXQ members Kim Junsu, Park Yoochun and Kim Jaejoong had been in a legal battle with SM for about 3 years, while Hangeng of Super Junior has also filed a lawsuit against SM, insisting that his contract wit...
On October 27, a press conference for JTBC's new survival program "Mix 9" was held in Seoul. The program is planned and produced by YG Entertainment, and as the judge of the program, Yang Hyun Suk attended the press conference. And BIGBANG's Seungri also attended the event to give support to the CEO of his agency. As you may know, in "Mix 9", Yang Hyun Suk visits various k-pop agencies throughout the country and finds and trains talented trainees. Are you curious about what they talked about at the press conference? Well, check out what Seungri talked about the program and Yang Hyun Suk. I've visited many k-pop agencies throughout the country, and it reminded me of when I was a trainee. Before I debuted, Yang Hyun Suk treated me with rigor. He threw many slippers at me, and I think I could open a shoe store if I'd collected all the slippers, haha. However, many CEOs of k-pop agencies I've visited were totally different from Yang Hyun ...

It seems like many would be singers look on only the bright side of k-pop idols. Yeah, they look very gorgeous on the stage, and they’re loved by so many fans too. However, it’s never easy to become a k-pop idol because you have to endure all the hardships when you are a trainee. And the reality could be harsher than you imagine. So, here’s an interview with a former k-pop trainee. She was trained by one of the most famous k-pop agencies for years, but she decided to quit for various reasons. Q. How long were you trained? And what made you decide to quit your life as a k-pop trainee? A. I was trained for about 6 years. I really want to become a singer when I was young. However, I later found out that I should do lots of things other than singing and dancing to become a singer. I couldn’t allow myself in such a course of life. Q. What kind of things did you have to do other than singing and dancing? A. I could not date, and I could not drink. When I go away for the weeken...
