Winner Tells How it Feels about its Tremendous Popularity on Music Charts
The Winner members told how they feel about their debut album's tremendous popularity on various music charts.
On August 13, through his company YG entertainment, Kang Seungyoon said "I'm just dazed for such as great result that I've never expected. In return for your constant support, I'll continue to do my best."
The group's debut album '2014 S/S', released on August 12, has topped iTunes' album charts in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan, while it is ranked at No.39 on the United States' chart, which is exceptional for rookie Kpop group. In Korea, all the tracks of the album including the title track 'Empty' and 'Color Ring' are in the upper ranks of various online music charts.
Song Minho said "That's thrilling. I am extremely grateful. And I'm completely dumbfounded," while Nam Taehyun stated, "I can't believe it," and Kim Jinwoo said "It's too good to be true. I'll try harder."
Lee Seunghoon added, "As Lee Hi and Akdong Musician made great marks with their debut album, I felt pressure when I prepared for our debut album. I think we met with a good result as much as we prepared. It's happy to be able to make a return for our fans' long wait."
Meanwhile, Winner will perform 'Empty' and 'Color Ring' for the first time at SBS' 'Inkigayo' to be aired on August 17.
