[Interview] Wooyoung wanted to give up everything 5 years ago but didn't because of 2PM

Q. You finally made a comeback as a solo singer. It has been five and a half years since you released your first mini album in 2012.
Wooyoung: I'm filled with emotion. Of course, I feel pressured to do well, but I'm really happy that I can introduce my music to many people.

Q. Tell me about your title track.
Wooyoung: The title track "Ddook" is a song about a man who is in the sorrow of parting but promises himself he will never cry again. (“Ddook” is a Korean onomatopoeia that indicates a sudden stop or drop, and is often used to tell someone to stop crying) Thanks to Park Jin Young's advice, I could upgrade the song.

Q. When do you think 2PM will make a comeback?
Wooyoung: Since all the members have to fulfill military duty, it will take 4-5 years, I think. I'm thinking of joining the army later this year. I've been trying to concentrate on my work because I'm a member of 2PM and I didn't want to cause damage to my team, but frankly speaking, I want to join the army as soon as possible because I feel like I'm not a real man yet.

Q. Is Taecyeon doing good in the army?
Wooyoung: Yeah, he's doing really great. He has adapted well to the military system. He seems to be a born soldier. He lost some weight, and he looked great.

Q. What if you enter Taecyeon's unit and he becomes your senior soldier?
Wooyoung: It would be not bad, but I want to serve in a different unit because he is not the man who will make things comfortable for me, haha.

Q. It has been 10 years since you debuted. Were there hard times in your career?
Wooyoung: 5 years ago, I was really confused because I gained great popularity when I was very young. I felt awkward about all the things. And I wanted to give up everything. However, I couldn't betray 2PM members. I overcame all difficulties thanks to 2PM. I live because of 2PM, and I want to be a great solo singer because of 2PM.

Q. It has been a long time since you appeared in a drama.
Wooyoung: Yeah, I made an appearance in "Dream High" in 2011, and there still are many people who say they've enjoyed watching the drama. I'm and idol and there have been many chances to act, but I didn't want to sugar coat my appearance in a drama by calling it "challenge". For now, I want to concentrate on my music. I will act when I really want to act and have an audition.
