The reason why the friendship between G-Dragon and IU is so special


G-Dragon and IU, two of the hottest k-pop stars are attracting attention for their deep friendship. You know, G-Dragon was featured as a rapper in IU's hit "Palette", while the female singer made a guest appearance on G-Dragon's concert held in Seoul in June. That's not all. G-Dragon received a very special gift from IU in exchange for being featured in her song. IU gave him a refrigerator filled with bottles of Soju, and she told him to drink all of them before his enlistment. And IU recently made a guest appearance on G-Dragon's concert held in Taiwan and performed "Palette" and "Missing You" with him too.

G-Dragon and IU's friendship began when they appeared on "Infinite Challenge" in 2015. They took part in the famous TV show's song festival, and after then, IU, who was preparing for her new album asked G-Dragon for advice when she was working on "Palette". And she later asked him to be featured in the song because she was sure he was the one who could express the song's atmosphere very well. He readily said okay, and he did better than expected, according to IU.


One reason why the friendship between G-Dragon and IU is so special is because both of them are a little bit shy of strangers and are well known for not having very large circle of friends. Both of the k-pop stars have nice personalities, but they don't usually hang out with just anyone.

Then, what do you think is the reason why G-Dragon and IU could become so intimate in a short period of time? Yeah, it's because they're much alike in character, of course. But that's not all. Their relationship is based on respect. You know, both G-Dragon and IU are considered as top class musicians in the k-pop world, and they know it too. G-Dragon respects IU as a top class female musician, and IU also respects him. That's why IU asked G-Dragon for advice when she was working on "Palette".

Do you think IU made a guest appearance on G-Dragon's concert just because the male k-pop star was featured as a rapper in her song? No, she did so readily because she recognizes him as a top class musician. She never makes a guest appearance on just anyone's concert.

And did you hear that G-Dragon promised to make a guest appearance on IU's upcoming concert? It's very unusual for G-Dragon to make a guest appearance on other singers' concerts. He's too busy to appear on other singers' concerts, and he never makes a guest appearance on just anyone's concert because he is a super star. But, yeah, he readily promised to make a guest appearance on IU's concert, which means IU is special to him and he recognizes her as a top class k-pop star, just like him. And according to people around G-Dragon, he is very grateful for what IU presented him and her guest appearance on his concert held in a foreign country.

Even though G-Dragon has to join the army soon, it seems there will be no change in their relationship. Hope their great friendship will last forever!
