On September 8, a press conference for Mnet's 'Unpretty Rapstar 2' was held in Seoul. The survival program will be aired from September 11, while 11 female rappers such as Heize, Kasper, Ash-B, Hyolyn, Gilme, An Soo Min, Yezi, KittiB, Sua, Yubin, and Truedy will appear on the show.
So, who do you support? And who do you think will be the best rapper? As you know, through the first season of the program, various rappers including Jessi, Ceetah, Kisum, and AOA Jimin gained great popularity.
Among the competitors of 'Unpretty Rapstar 2', Sua is a
young rapper worth paying attention to. She is a sixth-year trainee of YG Entertainment, and it is expected that she will show off her outstanding rap skills through the program. She has been trained systematically by the powerhouse agency, and as you know, YG has already proved its prescience by making its young rappers stars through Mnet's another hip hop survival program 'Show Me The Money'.
At the press conference, Sua didn't have many chances to talk about herself because most of the questions were showered on Wonder Girls' Yubin and Sistar's Hyolyn. Here's Sua's comment about her appearance on 'Unpretty Rapstar 2'.
"As I'm still a trainee, there has been no chance for me to show my rap performance to the public. Yang Hyun Suk gave me an opportunity to appear on 'Unpretty Rapstar2'. I'll try my best."
It seems that YG is now hoping that Sua will grow up as a competent female rapper who can rule the kpop market. So, do you think the 16-year-old girl will be able to hold a dominant position in the world of kpop just like 2NE1's CL? Of course, she has to surpass Yubin and Hyolyn first. Check out what Yubin and Hyolyn talked about their appearance on 'Unpretty Rapstar 2'.
"What I can show in this program is totally different from what I have done as a member of Wonder Girls. You know, Wonder Girls is a pop band and I couldn't do hip hop music when I performed Wonder Girls' songs. I wanted to show various aspects of myself. Before having decided to appear on the show, I received huge support by the Woner Girls members. Yeeun and Sunmi, who have released their solo albums, told me that I should build my career as a solo artist." - Yubin
"I've always dreamed of showing my rap performance. But I had no chance to do it because I was a part of Sistar. It's so happy to take on new challenge. Even if I has to lose something by competing in the show, I don't want to stop my challenge. If I do a great job, I'll gain much." - Hyolyn
