There are so many kpop boy groups who debuted over recent years. Actually, the boy groups are too numerous to mention one by one. Some of them just disappeared before one knows, while only a very small minority of them became popular. By the way, there is a boy group who has been on the steady rise and succeeded in becoming a well-loved idol group. Yeah, that's BTS(Bangtan Boys).
"BTS is in Big Hit entertainment, which is not as big kpop agency as SM, YG, or JYP. That's one of the reasons why BTS' success is so interesting.(Even though there has been a controversy over the group's Sajaegi) Achieving success as a idol group of small and medium agency is much harder than you could ever have imagined. Furthermore, the members are not that handsome. Some of, maybe many of you may disagree with this, but they are not 'pretty boys' like EXO or SHINee members. Frankly speaking, I thought they are too ugly to be idols when I saw BTS for the first time. Well, I think they're so attractive now."
Then, how was BTS able to achieve success even though its company is not big? The boy group differentiated itself from the other new kpop boy groups by doing real hip hop music.(It's absurd to say BTS is actually doing "Real Hip Hop", but its music is more hip hop-like than the other kpop idol groups'.) The group made their own music and sang about teenager's life, arousing empathy from young kpop fans.(even though there was a plagiarism controversy over its song 'DOPE'. Do you think BTS copied Flo Rida's 'GDFR'?)
Add to this, the boy group succeeded in appealing to kpop fans because of its image of skilled hip hop idol. Oh, it's not just an image. The BTS members have sufficient performing skills and prove it on stage. They just enjoy their stage unlike other puppet like idol groups.
Especially, Rap Monster, who has polished his rap skill in Korean underground hip hop scene and debuted as a member of the boy group, is getting spotlight by showing off his excellent qualifications. As you know, he was featured as a rapper in the most album of MFBTY, comprised of Tiger JK, Yoon Mirae, and Bizzy, who are considered as heavyweights in Korean hip hop scene.
"Do k-pop idols really sing live? It's not an easy question to answer because the answer to the question could be both yes and no. Well, I want to talk about details about k-pop idols' live performance on the stage. Have you heard about MR, AR, LMR, and LAR? If you get to know about these terms, you will be able to have a good understanding of k-pop idols' live performance." MR(Music Recorded) Basically, MR means instrumental accompaniment. Have you been to karaoke? MR is like karaoke music which doesn’t contain the sound of singer’s voice. However, there is no k-pop idol who uses such a clear MR, while all the k-pop idols’ MR contains sounds of their voices. Before performing their songs on k-pop chart shows, k-pop idols should make their MR, and the way how they make MR is to decrease the sound volume of their voices in original music, while keeping the sound volume of instrumental accompaniment as it is. So, to k-pop idols, singing to MR doesn’t j...
Popular actor Kim Soohyun's new movie "Real" was released on June 28, while much attention was focused on the movie because the handsome actor play a double role in the movie for the first time since he debuted. However, "Real" is receiving harsh reviews from the critics. The critics are saying the movie is rubbish. Actually, as I said before, there have been some problems about making of "Real" since last year. Kim Soohyun filmed the movie from January 2016 to June 2016, and movie director Lee Jung Seob directed the movie. By the way, Lee Jung Seob was suddenly replaced by another movie director Lee Sarang for no reason. The problem was that Lee Sarang is Kim Soohyun's cousin and he could become the director of "Real" even though he has no experience in directing a movie. Well, as a result, the rookie director, who has poor directing ability ruined the film. He's now living with Kim Soohyun. By the way, the bigger problem...

Goo Hara, a female k-pop star who has achieved tremendous things as a member of popular girl group Kara, is having a hard time. You know, she is currently being investigated for an assault case, and it seems both Goo Hara and her ex-boyfriend Choi Jong Bum, a handsome hair designer who is known as "Yoo Ah-in of Cheongdam-dong", are responsible for causing bodily harm to each other. Goo Hara got bruises all over her body, while the hair designer had scars on her face. But what's even more shocking is that the ex-boyfriend threatened to leak a sex tape with the k-pop idol in it. He threatened to upload footage of their intimate moments on the web as revenge porn following their 30-minute fight. Even though his lawyer stated that there were no such threats made and that filming the sex tape was Goo Hara’s idea to begin with, the statement doesn't sound so reliable because the ex-boyfriend had contacted Dispatch and suggested that he has information worthy of ...
