Two popular kpop girl groups, SISTAR and AOA made comeback on the same day. Have you listened to their songs, 'Shake it' and 'Heart attack' that were released on June 22? Which song do you like better? Both of the songs are cheerful summer dance music, while 'Shake it' is written by hit maker Double Kick and 'Heart attack' is written by another hit maker Brave Brothers.
The two songs are now in the top slots of various online music charts, and I like both of the songs.(even though I was a little disappointed with the songs because the two talented girl groups couldn't show anything new about themselves)
On June 22, SISTAR and AOA held their comeback showcases and talked about their new albums. As the girl group released their albums on the same day and many other popular girl groups like Girl's Day, 9 Muses, Girls' Generation, and APink will make comeback soon too, the SISTAR and AOA members also gave their opinions about the rivalry among girl groups.
Here are the SISTAR members' comments about the rivalry.
"I feel really honored when people compare us to the top girl groups like Girls' Generation or 2NE1. We have no urge to beat other girl groups, but we're still hungry. We still have so many things to achieve." -Dasom "There are no girl groups we think of as rivals. I think we have our own music style and concept." -Soyou "Through our new album, we want to prove that summer is the season for SISTAR. Each girl group has its style and fans will be happy to watch a variety of different kinds of performance. -Hyolyn
And here are the AOA members' comments.
"It's an honor to make a comeback at the same time as SISTAR. I will watch the girl group's performance up close and learn a lot from it. We will try to show off our own charm." -Chanmi "All of them are outstanding girl groups, but I think we have more members than them(laugh). Frankly speaking, we wanted to avoid releasing our new album at the same time as other distinguished girl groups. When we were trainees, we wanted to emulate the girl groups. Anyway, we will try our best on stage." -Choa

Of course, it's true that SISTAR enjoys a comparative advantage in terms of its career and fan base, but AOA has been continuing its sweeping upturn since the girl group made a hit with 'Mini Skirt' in early 2014.
