Do you like Kpop idol groups? As you know, there are so many Kpop idol groups, and they catch eyes of people by giving off their unique charm. Prominent Kpop idol groups such as TVXQ, Super Junior, SHINee, Big Bang, Girls' Generation, After School and more are loved by many people around the world.
By the way, some of those groups have their sub units. Sub units are composed of some
members of the original group, and sometimes, are even more loved by people than the original groups are.
Then, do you know why Kpop idols form their sub unit groups? Well, it is mutually beneficial.
From the point of view of Kpop agencies, Kpop stars are highly marketable products. The agencies can have extra income by promoting their sub unit groups. This is why the agencies constantly think out the new sub unit groups.
To the singers, it can be a great chance to increase their existence as Kpop stars. As a member of idol group consists of more than 4 or 5 singers, it is not easy for the member to give off his/her own charm sufficiently. However, the unit group, usually consists of 2 or 3 members, can make the singer look better.
Here are the representative Kpop unit groups. See how attractive they are.
GD & TOP : Big Bang's G-Dragon and TOP
GD & TOP was organized by Big Bang's two charming members G-Dragon and TOP in 2010. Their song 'High High' was sesationally popular, and has topped variety of music charts. By showing top quality performance on the stage, the duo gave off charismatic charm beyond compare. The two have been recognized as competitive rappers not only in TV, but also in the underground hip hop scene.
Girls' Generation TTS : Girls' Generation(SNSD)'s Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun
Girls' Generation TTS was formed in 2012. The three girls who had attuned to each other as MCs of MBC's 'Show! Music Core', formed the unit group that has a fatal attraction. 'TTS' signifies three members' name(Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun), and it is called 'Tae Ti Seo' in Korea. With its hit 'Twinkle', Girls' Generation TTS swept Korean music scene.
SISTAR 19 : Sistar's Hyolyn and Bora
SISTAR 19 released its single 'Ma Boy' in 2011, and has gained lots of popularity by showing sexy 'chair performance'. The '19' in their name represents the age that girls mature into women. In 2013, the duo created another sensation by releasing the song 'Gone Not Around Any Longer'. By winning great success as the unit group and the original group, Sistar has been regarded as the only girl group to be able to compared to top Kpop girl group Girls' Generation.
Orange Caramel : After School's Nana, Raina and Lizzy
Unlike its original group After School is loved by many fans with sexy and dark concept, Orange Caramel's concept is more sweet and lovely. With its distictive songs such as 'Magic Girl', 'A-ing', 'Bangkok City' and 'Lipstick', Orange Caramel showed off unique charm. Especially, the unit group has many young age fans thanks to their songs that are easy to sing along to. Orange Caramel has been gaining recognition by making their own way in Kpop world.
"Do k-pop idols really sing live? It's not an easy question to answer because the answer to the question could be both yes and no. Well, I want to talk about details about k-pop idols' live performance on the stage. Have you heard about MR, AR, LMR, and LAR? If you get to know about these terms, you will be able to have a good understanding of k-pop idols' live performance." MR(Music Recorded) Basically, MR means instrumental accompaniment. Have you been to karaoke? MR is like karaoke music which doesn’t contain the sound of singer’s voice. However, there is no k-pop idol who uses such a clear MR, while all the k-pop idols’ MR contains sounds of their voices. Before performing their songs on k-pop chart shows, k-pop idols should make their MR, and the way how they make MR is to decrease the sound volume of their voices in original music, while keeping the sound volume of instrumental accompaniment as it is. So, to k-pop idols, singing to MR doesn’t j

1988–2009: Early life and debut G-Dragon began his career at age five as part of the group Little Roo Ra. After releasing a Christmas album, the group's contract was terminated by their record company, which came as a shock to G-Dragon. After then, he was scouted by SM Entertainment while on a ski trip with his family. He was a trainee under the record label for five years, specializing in dance before he left, unclear about what he wanted to do. In third grade, G-Dragon was introduced to the American rap group Wu-Tang Clan by a friend. Inspired by their music, he developed an interest in rapping and began taking classes. Under People Crew's tutelage, he participated in the release of the Korean hip-hop album Flex in 2001, becoming the youngest Korean rapper at just 13 years old. Although he wrote his own lyrics, he admitted that his English was weak and the story behind the lyrics was just another typical "I'm young, but I'm the best." Additionall
Have you ever been curious about k-pop idols' microphones? Unless you are a professional, it’s difficult to know the details about the microphones. However, there’s a very simple way to make a guess at what kind of microphone your favorite idol star uses. Well, the way is to classify the microphones by their colors. Colors of microphones do not always mean everything, but like I said, you can at least make a guess at what kind of microphones those are. Flesh-Colored Microphone You might see the flesh-colored microphones frequently in various k-pop chart shows. Those are the basic microphones offered by the broadcasting company. People in the k-pop world usually call it "Band-Aid." The microphone is cheap, and it doesn't perform well. However, it doesn't matter because not a few incompetent idols depend on their AR and just pretend to sing live. Black Microphone The black microphone is not offered by the broadcasting company. If an idol group's
I’m sure you’re very curious about k-pop trainee’s daily schedule. Well, it differs from case to case, but let me explain about the general case. If you become a k-pop trainee, you should follow the daily schedule below. 8 a.m. : School attendance As most of k-pop trainees are students, they should go to school in the morning. They try not to skip breakfast if possible because it’s important for them to manage their health. At their school, they take classes just like the other ordinary students, but they usually listen to music during break time to make preparations for their weekly test. They sometimes write song lyrics, while there are also some passionate trainees who practice singing and dancing at their school. 5 p.m. : Go to practicing room After school is over, trainees go to their practicing rooms. The first thing they do when they arrive at their practicing rooms is give their cellphones and diaries to people who manage them. They get their cellphones back after the
