One says G-Dragon is his role model and he's inspired by GD

On July 11, One held a press conference and gave his thoughts on his solo debut. Actually, it is very unusual for a rookie singer to hold a press conference as soon as he debuts, but One could hold his press conference because he's receiving full support from Yang Hyun Suk, the CEO of YG Entertainment, which is one of the biggest k-pop agencies. One is YG's first ever solo male singer in 14 years since SEVEN made a debut in 2003, and Yang Hyun Suk is now expecting him to create a sensation in the k-pop world. So, check out what One talked about his debut at his press conference.

Q. You once were a member of hip hop duo 1PUNCH, but you finally made a debut as a solo singer. How do you feel?
One: I was dazed before coming here, but now I realized that I made a debut as a solo singer. Many things happened for the past 2-3 years, and I've been trying to learn who I really am. I think I've learned a lot from YG's great musicians such as Teddy and Kush.

Q. You are YG's first ever solo male singer in 14 years since SEVEN made a debut in 2003. Don't you feel pressure about it?
One: I feel pressured. However, I'm trying to ease my mind.

Q. I heard that you could have replaced Nam Taehyun, who has left WINNER.
One: Well, actually, I've heard about it, but don't know the details. I was just preparing for my solo debut.

Q. What advice did Yang Hyun Suk give you?
One: He told me to do my best, but he also wanted me to be healthy. I was moved by his words. When I was preparing for my album, I received good reviews from him, and he gave me a chance to do what I wanted to do.

Q. How have you been since you appeared on "Show Me The Money 5" in 2016?
One: When I was appearing on "Show Me The Money", I was intimidated. After then, I worked on my music more than 13 hours a day. I've made a variety of songs, and I hope I can release them this year.

Q. Samuel, who once was your team mate has recently appeared on "PRODUCE 101 Season 2". Have you watched the program?
One: I couldn't watch all the episodes, but I really supported him. Even though we do not contact each other, but my manager called his mother and sent a message of support.

Q. You have two title tracks, "Gettin' by" and "Heyahe".
One: I want to arouse a variety of people's sympathy through "Gettin' by". And through "Heyahe", I want to show my sexy charm.

Q. Tell me about your plans for this year.
One: As there are many people who don't know about me, I want to appear on as many TV programs as possible. I will do all I can do. If I have a chance, I want to make an appearance on a movie too.

Q. What's your goal?
One: I want to be one of a kind. I want to do something only I can do. Please look forward to it.

Q. Who is your role model?
One: G-Dragon, of course. He is my role model, and I'm inspired by him. He is the coolest.
