[Interview] Lee Seung Gi says he'll make a comeback as soon as possible


Q. Do you have anything to say to your fans who came here to congratulate you on being discharged from the army?
Lee Seung Gi: Thank them for taking the trouble to come so far even if it's so cold. The moment I've waited for has finally arrived.

Q. How did you sleep last night?
Lee Seung Gi: I couldn't sleep well last night. Actually, it's not because I was very excited about leaving the army but because I was sad that I had to part from my troop members.

Q. What was it like to do your military service in the special forces?
Lee Seung Gi: Frankly speaking, I was very surprised and embarrassed when I got assigned to the special forces. But I could overcome my limitations by performing my duties in the special forces, and I feel like I can do anything now.


Q. Do you think 2 years have passed by so quickly?
Lee Seung Gi: No, 100 days after my enlistment, my army life began to drag. And during last 48 hours, time dragged terribly.

Q. Did you expect that so many fans would come here to congratulate you on being discharged from the army?
Lee Seung Gi: I hoped I could be congratulated by many people, but my heart ached when I heard that so many fans were waiting for me in the cold morning. I am worried they might catch my cold. I heard that many foreign fans came here too, and I would like to thank everyone here today who has congratulated me.

Q. How was your army life?
Lee Seung Gi: I love the army, haha. I'm highly disciplined as a soldier, and I still awake in spite of myself at 7:30 a.m. I think I have to try hard to adjust myself to civil society.

Q. What would you most like to do now?
Lee Seung Gi: I've been looking forward to this moment, but I've suddenly gone blank. It just hasn't hit me yet. I think I will be able to realize the fact that I've been discharged from the army after going home and meeting my parents.

Q. Tell me your future plan.
Lee Seung Gi: I've heard some people saying I will never leave the army, haha. That's out of question for me, of course, but I think it's a kind of expression of interest to me. During my army life, I got a chance to receive real training, and I was placed in an extreme situation while I was trained. I've become stronger, and I got a lot of energy now. I'll make a comeback as soon as possible, and I promise I will do tons of activities. My fans will be very busy.

History of G-Dragon: Debut, Success and more

1988–2009: Early life and debut G-Dragon began his career at age five as part of the group Little Roo Ra. After releasing a Christmas album, the group's contract was terminated by their record company, which came as a shock to G-Dragon. After then, he was scouted by SM Entertainment while on a ski trip with his family. He was a trainee under the record label for five years, specializing in dance before he left, unclear about what he wanted to do. In third grade, G-Dragon was introduced to the American rap group Wu-Tang Clan by a friend. Inspired by their music, he developed an interest in rapping and began taking classes. BTS will hold its first ever exclusive concert. According to Big Hit entertainment, the boy group will hold its concert 'BTS 2014 LIVE TRILOGY: EPISODE II.
