Wanna One and Kang Daniel made a broadcasting company kneel down with their huge popularity


Wanna One is gaining great popularity even though the group didn't release its debut album yet. The boy group, which is comprised of 11 members who appeared in "PRODUCE 101 Season 2" has a lot of fans, while they have already made advertising contracts with various brands.

Then, who do you think is the most popular among all the Wanna One members? Well, even though there could be different opinions, the one who is attracting most attention from people in the Korean entertainment world is Kang Daniel. You know, he is the winner of "PRODUCE 101 Season 2", and he has many fans because of his attractive smile and good personality. Kang Daniel is currently receiving love calls from a variety of TV shows.

By the way, many people in the Korean entertainment are now saying it's really surprising that Kang Daniel has been cast in MBC's new reality program "Dangerous". Do you know why?


Wanna One is comprised of 11 members who appeared in "PRODUCE 101 Season 2", and the audition program was broadcast by Mnet. What do you think it means? Yeah, strictly speaking, Wanna One is Mnet's boy group, and the other broadcasting companies don't need to do something helpful to Wanna One and Mnet. That's why I.O.I, a girl group which is comprised of 11 girls who appeared in "PRODUCE 101 Season 1" had difficulty in appearing in major TV channels' programs.

So, the fact that Kang Daniel has been cast in MBC's new reality program means a lot. It could be a symbolic event, and there is a good chance that the other Wanna One members will appear in a variety of major TV channels' programs after releasing their debut album. Actually, some of Wanna One's shooting schedules for TV shows are already confirmed. They'll take part in the recording of KBS' "Happy Together" soon, while Kang Daniel and Park Jihoon will appear in JTBC's "Let's eat together". And the boy group will make an appearance in tvN's "SNL Korea" too.


Why do you think MBC allowed Kang Daniel to appear in its new reality program, then? Actually, there is a simple reason for it. Because Wanna One and Kang Daniel are so popular and their appearance in a TV show guarantees high viewer ratings. When I.O.I was active in the k-pop world, MBC just ignored them. But, things are different now. MBC can't ignore Wanna One because the boy group is gaining sensational popularity and is much more popular than I.O.I. I.O.I was paid about 30 million won for a pictorial shoot, but Wanna One is paid more than 40 million won (about 35,000 USD). Yeah, Wanna One and Kang Daniel, who are enjoying huge popularity made MBC kneel down.

Meanwhile, Wanna One is currently working on its debut mini album to be released on August 7. The boy group will hold its debut concert on the day too.
