Exclusive comments from Starship: SISTAR is sure to be disbanded but it doesn't mean they will leave Starship


On May 23, SISTAR announced that they decided to disband the team. I'm sure it's a very sad news for the girl group's fans.

Well, are you curious about stories behind the breakup of the 4 members? Check out comments from the Starship official.

I've been sharing my joys and sorrows with the SISTAR members, and my heart hurts now. We've been discussing about the renewal of their contract, but the prerequisite for renewal was that we can't maintain the team if at least one of the members is against it. Starship hoped the members will be active as SISTAR much longer, but we're sorry to give you sad news. The 4 members put their heads together to resolve the issue, and they made their decision. And we respect their decision. For now, SISTAR is sure to be disbanded. But, it doesn't mean that the members will leave Starship. As the 4 members' contracts with Starship expire on different days, we will be able to give you a definite answer about the renewal of their contracts in June. We're trying to seek compromise now, and the members are reasonable in their demands. I think Hyolyn will be active as a solo singer, while another member will become an actress. Even though SISTAR has been disbanded, we'll give full support to the members if they renew their contracts with Starship.
