Red Velvet aims to surpass TWICE, GFriend and BLACKPINK


Red Velvet is coming back. The girl group will release its new song "Russian Roulette" on September 7, while it has been 6 months since "One of these nights" was released last March. By the way, Red Velvet has a problem to solve. 

 The fresh girl group formed by SM entertainment debuted in 2014. Well, it didn't take them long to become one of the hottest rookie kpop girl groups. They made consecutive hits with "Ice Cream Cake" and "Dumb Dumb," fascinating many kpop fans. However, things suddenly began to go wrong due to a steep growth of other rookie girl groups.

TWICE, who debuted in October 2015 caused a sensation with their hit "Cheer Up," while GFriend made 4 consecutive hits with their songs "Glass Bead," "Me gustas tu," "Rough," and "Navillera." No doubt, TWICE and GFriend are now the two of the most popular girl groups among Korean young people, and people do not consider Red Velvet as the No.1 rookie girl group any more. Well, this kind of situation could hurt SM's pride because SM has been fancying itself as the No.1 kpop agency and Red Velvet is its ambitious work.(The shocking truth is that GFriend is a girl group of a very small agency)

 To make things worse, YG's new girl group BLACKPINK is on a roll in the world of kpop. The girl group has been gaining amazing popularity since they released their debut album on August 8, 2016. 

So, what SM wants to do through the upcoming new album is to prove that Red Velvet is as competent and popular as TWICE, GFriend and BLACKPINK. That's why Red Vevlet will release a song of "Red conception" not "Vevlet conception." You know, the girl group obtained good results when they made a comeback with songs of "Red conception" such as "Ice Cream Cake" and "Dumb Dumb" but couldn't attract people's attention when they released songs of "Velvet conception" such as "Automatic" and "One of these nights."


Do you think Red Velvet will be able to surpass TWICE, GFriend and BLACKPINK? Probability is good enough because the members are so pretty and attractive, and SM Entertainment is giving a full support to the girl group. What Dynamic Duo Achieved Other Than The Scandal with Sulli

Dynamic Duo released its new album. The Korean hip hop duo that consists of Choiza and Gaeko is regarded as the representative hip hop artist in Korea, while the two met in the 6th grade of elementary school and have a long standing history of being friends.
