GFriend recently made a comeback. The girl group released new mini album "Sunny Summer", which has the title song of the same title. The song is good, and the pretty and lovely 6 girls give off their fresh charm again through the catchy music. By the way, what's notable about GFriend's comeback is that other popular girl groups such as TWICE and MAMAMOO released their new albums around the same time. Actually, there are some reasons why so many k-pop girl groups usually release their new albums in summer. First, the hot weather of summer always tempts girl groups to expose their hot bodies, and cheerful dance music usually gain great popularity in summer. Yeah, summer is the perfect season for girl groups to give off their sexy charm. Second, Korea has many festivals in autumn, and the festivals are the major sources of income for girl groups. On September 9, GFriend had a traffic accident and couldn't attend Incheon K-pop Concert 2017. Many fans of the girl group must have been very surprised to hear about the accident. But don't worry. According to Source Music, home to the girl group, the members weren't hurt badly. The accident was caused by a manager's careless driving, and he hit the car in front of him when he was making a lane change. Right after the accident, GFriend members went to hospital for a thorough examination. Yerin sprained her little finger, and the other members had minor bruises. The members are currently relaxing at home, and according to Source Music, they will make a comeback on September 13 as planned. Take care, girls!

Q. Tell me about your new song "Love Whisper". Yuju: "Love Whisper" is a summer song which has a fresh melody. The song is written by Leegi Yongbae, who have been working with us since our debut. People say our concept is powerful pure, but this time, I want to name it "power-up pure concept" because we will show more powerful performance on the stage. SinB: Yeah, the choreographer, who has created BTS' choreography choreographed for us this time. The choreography is more difficult than ever. Sowon: The choreography has many movements which remind people of a musical. Q. How does it feel to make a comeback? Sowon: It's our first album in 4 months, and we've been really hard at work on the album because we wanted to put on a better show for our fans. I did out best to meet people's expectations, and I'm confident it is a well-made album. Q. It's notable that "Love Whisper" is quite different from your previo...

Q. You made a successful comeback with your new song "Fingertip" by topping a variety of music charts. How do you feel? Sowon: When we were preparing for the album, we were half filled with anticipation and half filled with uneasiness because the album is based on a new concept that we have never tried. I thank our fans for their great support and interest. Umji: The fact that we tried a new thing is very significant for us, and we tried not to care about charts. Q. Is there any reason why you decided to try a new concept? SinB: I and Umji graduated from high school this year, and we are adults now. In that sense, it was a suitable time for us to change our concept. Q. So, how do you like your new concept? SinB: As we wanted to show a variety of aspects of ourselves, we decided to take off our school uniforms. I think we will be able to give off our chic charm. I love it. Sowon: We still have many things to show, and we'll try various new concepts. Q. Aren...

I think many k-pop fans feel very excited these days because there are so many k-pop idol groups who announced that they'll be making a comeback in early 2017. You know, Red Velvet has already released its new song "Rookie" on February 1, while other famous girl groups TWICE and GFriend will make a comeback soon too. And BTS, one of the most popular k-pop boy groups, will release its new album on February 13. By the way, isn't it strange that so many popular idol groups release their new albums around the same time? You might think it's not strange at all because it is the beginning of the year and all the idol groups must want to make a great start. However, there is another reason so many k-pop idol groups make a comeback in early 2017. As you may know, Korean prosecutors are now continuing with their raid of the presidential office in search of documents related to Choi Soon Sil, who is suspected of meddling in state affairs as President Park Geun Hye...

On February 7, the graduation ceremony of SOPA (School of Performing Arts Seoul) was held in Seoul. You know, the school has turned out a lot of k-pop idol stars such as Suzy, Naeun and Sulli, while their juniors, BTS' Jungkook, GFriend's SinB and Umji, WJSN's Eunseo, CLC's Yeeun and more attended this year's graduation ceremony. I feel great, and I have some regrets too. Thank you for celebrating me, and I think it's time to be an adult. I'll eat jjajangmyeon with the BTS members after the ceremony. SinB of GFriend I'm filled with emotion because Umji and I were the only two minors among all the GFriend members but we are now adults. As we are adults now, we'll try to show our development. Umji of GFriend We celebrated Yuju and Eunha's graduation last year, and I'm so g...

The Golden Age of Girl Groups One of the most notable trends of the k-pop world in 2016 was that young and fresh girl groups led the industry. GFriend, who was the most standout rookie girl group in 2015, made a comeback with its new song "Rough" in January 2016 and made a clean sweep of No.1 spots on various music charts. And in summer, the girl group confirmed its place as one of the hottest k-pop girl groups by releasing "Navillera” and topping a variety of music charts again. Besides GFriend, there were many girl groups who distinguished themselves in the k-pop industry in 2016. In March, MAMAMOO enjoyed great popularity with the title track of its first full album "Melting," showing off its outstanding live performance ability, and TWICE caused a sensation in the k-pop world by releasing its hits "Cheer up" and "TT." And rookie girl groups such as BLACKPINK and I.O.I had an amazing year too. Well, it certainly was the golden age ...

And below is their costumes for "Rough" performance So, which is your favorite costume? :)
