Lee Teuk proves he's qualified for the leader of Super Junior

On November 6, Super Junior held a press conference for its comeback. 6 Super Junior members, Lee Teuk, Kim Heechul, Shindong, Donghae, Yesung and Eunhyuk attended the press conference, but Choi Siwon, one of the key members of the team wasn't there.

You know, on September 30, the CEO of Hanilkwan, an upscale Korean restaurant, got bitten by a neighbor’s dog that wasn’t on a leash. The woman passed away from sepsis six days later, and the dog was revealed to be Choi Siwon’s and his family’s. And after the accident, Choi Siwon decided not to participate in Super Junior's promotional activities for its new album because the handsome idol star didn't want to cause damage to the other members.

So, before the press conference, extra attention was focused on what the Super Junior members would talk about Choi Siwon. The situation was certainly an embarrassment for the members because they have put a lot of effort into their new album and really wanted to promote the album at the press conference but they had to comment about the unexpected accident at the comeback event.

In such a situation, Lee Teuk, a leader of the team stepped up. Just before the press conference, he stood in front of reporters and said "As you know, Choi Siwon, Donghae and Eunhyuk came back after a long hiatus, and we've been hard at work on our new album, but I'm sorry to say that Choi Siwon decided not to participate in our promotional activities. And I'm sorry about the accident. We've gone through a lot since we debuted, but we didn't give up, and I think that's why we could stick together. Even though Choi Siwon will not participate in our promotional activities, the other members will try hard to fill the hole. We'll be still witty and cheerful".

Actually, Lee Teuk, who is well known for his good speaking skills always plays a big role in Super Junior's press conference. He is the one who usually plays the role of MC of Super Junior's press conference, and he also is the one who livens up the mood of the press conference by joking with reporters. He does these things because he likes to do the things, of course, but that's not all. As a leader of his team, he feels a strong sense of responsibility towards the other members, and he shows people that he means it through his actions.

Lee Teuk didn't leave the press conference even after all the other members left there. He bowed his head and extended his apology, saying "I'm sorry that we can't explain all the things".

As Lee Teuk said, the Super Junior members didn't mention details about the accident involving Choi Siwon's dog for some reasons. This could make reporters upset because all the reporters wanted to hear the members' comment about the accident, but, yeah, thanks to Lee Teuk, who stood in front of reporters before the press conference and politely asked the reporters for understanding, there was nobody who was angry about Super Junior. By doing all the annoying things, Lee Teuk certainly proved again that he's qualified for the leader of Super Junior.
