The reason why Suzy renewed her contract with JYP

Suzy's contract with JYP Entertainment has expired on March 31, 2017, and the interest of her fans has been collecting around whether or not the top k-pop star will renew her contract. You know, Suzy didn't say a word about the renewal of her contract even though it has been months since her contract ran out, and that's why there have been so many rumors about her decision.

But, on August 2, yeah, JYP officially announced that Suzy renewed her contract with the k-pop agency.

After Suzy's contract with JYP has expired, some agencies contacted her to sign an exclusive contract with her because, yeah, she is a super star. And Suzy thought seriously of making a contract with one of the agencies, but she refused the proposal eventually. The agency is not big, but Suzy thought the agency can give full support to her and help her grow as a competent solo musician.

Suzy also thought about establishing her own agency. According to people close to her, she asked them about establishing her own agency. And she also asked her friend for advice. Her friend is a celebrity who has established his own agency, and Suzy asked detailed questions about establishing and operating her own agency.

However, Suzy eventually decided not to leave JYP, and there were two reasons for that.

First, Suzy preferred an agency for musicians to an agency for actors. You know, Suzy has been active not only as a singer but also as an actress, and it's true she felt there was something lacking when she was active as an actress of JYP because JYP is a famous k-pop agency but is not a great agency for actors.

That's why she once thought about making a contract with an agency for actors, but the problem was that she hoped to keep on being active as a solo singer. Generally speaking, singers can be active as actors in k-pop agencies because all they need to do is just to act. However, actors can't active as singers in agencies for actors because making a music album needs workforce skills and capital investment. Especially, it needs skilled workers and technical know-how. That's why Suzy couldn't leave JYP, one of the most competent k-pop agencies.

Second, even though Suzy's contract with JYP has already expired, JYP has given full support to Suzy, who has been busy filming her new drama "While you were sleeping". So, Suzy could feel how much JYP cares about her, and she didn't need to leave her home. In addition, you know, JYP discovered and trained Suzy. And Suzy could become a top star thanks to JYP. Suzy has a special bond with Park Jin Young, and that's why Suzy has kept in touch with JYP even after her contract has expired.
