[Interview] Red Velvet say their next goal is to give their shows to fans all over the world

From August 18-20, Red Vevlet held its exclusive concert "Red Room" at the Olympic Hall at Olympic Park in Seoul. It was the girl group's first ever exclusive concert since its debut in 2014, and the 5 members seemed to be filled with emotions. Check out what the members talked about their first ever concert.

Q. You finally held your first ever exclusive concert. How do you feel?
Yeri: We've long been dreaming of holding our exclusive concert, and we felt so strange on the first day of the concert. That's why we all cried a lot on the day. And I heard that our agency had to add one more show because so many fans wanted to come to our concert. I'm very thankful for it.
Seulgi: We used to meet our fans through music chart shows, and it's our first time to meet so many fans all at once through our concert. I was moved to tears on the first day of our concert.
Irene: Frankly speaking, it didn't feel real on the first day of our concert. Watching seats filled with our fans, I had a lot on my mind. I'll try harder, and I'm so thankful to our fans.
Joy: So many emotions crossed my mind because so many things have happened since we debuted. I'm thankful that so many fans spent hours to watch our concert. I put everything into the concert, and I truly discovered my passion.

Q. What do you think is the reason for the great popularity of "Red Flavor"?
Yeri: When we just released the song, I felt anxiety, but I could gain confidence thanks to our fans' great support. I'm very thankful that the song is loved by so many people.
Seulgi: I think the song is loved by many people because it is a great summer song. We wanted to become a summer queen.

Q. What did you learn through your first ever exclusive concert?
Joy: I realized that so many people put a great deal of effort to make a perfect concert. And I felt extreme happiness while working with many people. And I felt enormous gratitude for everything because I couldn't hold our concert without our fans.

Q. What kind of support did SM artists give to you?
Yeri: Yesterday, Girls' Generation's Taeyeon, Yoona and Hyoyeon visited our concert. And SHINee's Minho came to the concert too. We didn't expect them to be our concert, and we were really encouraged by them.

Q. It has been 3 years since you debuted. What was your most memorable moment in your career?
Seulgi: It's hard to pick just one. I can't forget the moment when we debuted, and I can't forget the moment when we topped a music chart show for the first time. And of course, our first concert is a very memorable event too.

Q. What did Lee Soo Man say before you held your first ever concert?
Irene: We have not seen him for some time, haha.
Yeri: He sent us a congratulatory message whenever we topped music chart shows, though.

Q. Looking back to the past, what has changed over the past few years?
Seulgi: Well, we have a lot of fans now. We work harder for our fans, and we feel a strong sense of responsibility.

Q. What's you goal?
Joy: Personally, I used to establish concrete goals, but now I aim to be happy with the other members. I think the most important thing is our happiness.
Seulgi: I was very satisfied with our first concert, and my next goal is to give our shows to fans all over the world.
