Girls' Generation's Jessica Leaves the Group: The Truth Behind Conflict Among the Members

Girls' Generation's Jessica decided to leave the group. On September 30, through her Weibo account, the female idol star insisted that she got kicked out of the team by the other members and her company, SM entertainment, stating, "I was excited about our upcoming fan events only to shockingly be informed by my company and 8 others that as of today, I'm no longer a member. I'm devastated - my priority and love is to serve as a member of GG, but for no justifiable reason, I am being forced out."

And on the day, SM entertainment announced, "This spring, Jessica notified us that she will halt her team activity as a member of Girls' Generation due to her personal situation. Despite Jessica's sudden notice, the Girls' Generation members have been trying their best to figure out the best way for the group's continuous activities."

And added, "However, in the midst of insufficient clear negotiations regarding conflicts of differences in priorities and interest, Jessica started her fashion business. Due to this, it has come to a point where the team could not be maintained. We had no choice but to realign the team as a 8-member group earlier than planned. We will continue to support and manage the 8-member Girls' Generation and Jessica's individual activities."

I think many Girls' Generation fans might be shocked by the news. Let's talk about the truth surrounding Jessica.

Last March, Jessica was mixed up in a dating scandal with Korean-American investment banker Tylor Kwon. At that time, SM denied the rumors of Jessica's romance with him, but months later, Jessica was rumored to tie the knot with him.

Well, Tylor Kwon is the central figure of the incident. Jessica and her man has been thinking about a marriage, and Jessica spent much time dating with him despite her hectic schedule. According to the official, Jessica accompanied the guy even to her official schedules. Then, the other Girls' Generation members came into conflict with Jessica because it looked that Jessica put a bigger emphasis on her boyfriend and private life.

Furthermore, Jessica launched her fashion brand 'BLANC' last August, while Tylor Kwon attracted heavy investment to the brand, providing full support to her. Jessica's business has been growing fast and steadily. She tried to find a balance between Girls' Generation and her fashion brand, but it seems that her double life frustrated the other members. Parents of the members also expressed dissatisfaction with Jessica's personal business because they thought it could harm Girls' Generation's team activities.

So, the incident didn't happen all at once. Jessica was scheduled to leave her team some time or other(At first, Jessica told SM that she will leave Girls' Generation after releasing one more album), and the other members already knew it.

As Jessica's contract with SM didn't expire yet, she is still SM's artist. However, her future as a singer is up in the air. Before announcing that she leaves Girls' Generation, Jessica was almost finished with her upcoming album. The album is the first ever album of the Jung sisters, Jessica and her sister f(x)'s Krystal, but in the current situation, it is uncertain whether the album will be released.
