Kpop girl group APink made a comeback with its new mini album 'Pink Blossom'. It has a total of 6 songs including the title track 'Mr. Chu'.
'Mr. Chu' is a pop dance music that expresses the romance of first kiss. Through the song, the APink members show off their cute and pure charms.
In early 2014, many Kpop girl groups such as Girl's Day, AOA and Rainbow Blaxx came back with sexy concept and has fiercely competed to survive. Meanwhile, APink has been sticking to its innocent concept since its debut in 2011. That kind of strategy looks clever because it helped the group build its own character.
'Mr.Chu' follows the formality that all the pure and innocent girl group's hits have. Wearing princesslike costumes, the members dance in a cute way. APink sings "After sneaking up on me, would you please kiss me? You are my dreamy Mr.Chu."
First track's 'Sunday Monday' begins with gentle sound of acoustic guitar. The lovely song fascinates listeners with its catchy chorus "I love you Sunday Monday, Sunday Monday everyday." The song absolutely has popular appeal.
If you want to confirm the members' ability in singing repeated high notes, I recommend third track's 'Crystal'. Unlike they show off their attractive whispering voices in 'Sunday Monday', the members drastically hit the high notes in 'Crystal'. Thanks to APink's competitive singing ability, the song is full of vitality.
The group's leader Park Chorong participated in writing 4th track's 'Fairytale Love' and 5th track's 'So Long'. The lyrics are as pretty as Chorong's face. :) Here's the lyrics for 'So Long'. The song is about memories of love.

Well, the lovely tracks are attractive enough to charm Kpop fans. However, I feel something lacking.
In comparison to the group's former hits such as 'NoNoNo' and 'U You', it is hard for me to find something new in the latest album. The tracks' melody and thematic consciousness are just as I expected.
It can be a effective marketing strategy to keep only one music style. However, APink needs to show consistent musical growth because other young girl groups are threatening its position. In comparison to pure and innocent girl groups whose name recognition is lower than APink, such as Tint and 1PS, it looks that APink doesn't have its own color of music.
I may be worrying unduly, huh? I hope that the pretty girls will be able to achieve musical growth, building up the proper foundations as competitive Kpop singers.
